Hello my Tumblr friends!
It has been a long time since I updated my Tumblr. I’ve been pretty busy settling down in Bangkok and trying to get used to working 6 days a week. Almost no time for training. I decided to pick up BJJ again now I’m more settled, as well as my payment is this week :p
I emailed with BKKBJJ, as many people recommened this gym. They seem very nice and welcoming, with most of the people being expats. I like it, because I might understand the techniques easier. Next week I’m going to join the beginners class and see how I like it. Can’t wait to be back again!
And because of a new start, I’m still deciding if I will keep my Tumblr. I don’t have much readers anyways lol. Lately I’m using Wordpress to keep family and friends updated about my life in Bangkok (http://nnvsbkk.wordpres.com) but I don’t want to spam my Wordpress full of BJJ related stuff.
For now, I’m still alive and almost back on the mats! ^^
I haven’t update my Tumblr for a while as I’m busy packing my stuff and haven’t trained for 2 weeks now because my head is too busy to think about training.
My boyfriend and I made a list of ten goals we want to achieve in this new year. My last year’s goals were:
Lose weight. 48kg/106lbs!
Get at least KLI level 4
- Earn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt
- Earn Gracie Women Empowered pink belt
- Earn Woman Power Defense
level 1 & 2
All martial arts related goals lol. I achieved the losing weight goal as I’m now around 48kg. I didn’t reach KLI level 4 as I quit at level 2. And I did earn Woman Power Defense level 1, but never got to level 2 as I was too busy with BJJ.
This year’s goals are:
- Able to read Thai fluently.
- Be more positive.
- Earn Jiu Jitsu blue belt.
- Less cursing.
- Make five new friends and maintain friendship.
- Maintain weight.
- Cook ten new recipes.
Less focus on martial arts, more on daily life. Because I will be working fulltime I won’t be training as much as I used to when I lived in Korea. Also I wanted this year’s goals to be challenging but also easier to reach. Not sure about the ‘less cursing’ one though lol.
Do you have any goals for 2014?
A blue belt macho called me stupid/dumb/low IQ during training because I didn’t quite get what he meant. It was in Korean but I can definitely understand those words. It doesn’t make me feel good and my confidence is low now.
Quiting has never been this tempting…
What to do??
I had a great weekend celebrating my birthday. And ofcourse the next day I got sick. Fever. Cold. Headache. Runny nose. I couldn’t get out of my bed and had to cancel class. The day after I was still feeling like dying so again, class canceled.
Today I’m feeling like I can take over the world. Still a bit headache and runny nose but so much better than the days before. Now I’m a bit torn.
I can’t wait to be back on the mats again. But I don’t want to infect my teammates. I’m feeling good enough to train but my runny nose might cause problems.
I decided to go watch the class instead of training. That way I still feel like I’m being useful and productive. Also going to class and watch is better than sitting at home and doing nothing.
What would you do/recommend if you were sick? Wait until you’re fully recovered or hit the mats as soon as possible?
What would you do if one of your teammates is clearly sick but still train? Tell him not to train or avoid him so he won’t infect you?
